THIS COMPILATION HAVE JUST SOME OF THE EXPERIMENTAL RECORDINGS
MADE BY MAKANAKUNA
DURING 1995-1998.
TRACKS HAVE BEEN TAKEN FROM DEMOS, SPLITS AND COMPILATIONS.

"MAKANAKAKUNA started in the late 1995 when I discovered SPK and the realm of noise. I was 16 years old.

Before that, in the same year I was playing drums and screaming improvised stuff with my friend
Freddy del Pozo on guitar as GUSANO DE CHOKLO and had a solo project of punk-grind called Flema.
I was already tape-trading with people all around the world and making the fanzine PATRIOTA MUERTO.

In this underground network I met Chivolo (RUIDO DE ODIO/NOTOKEN) from Guayaquil through letters,
we never phoned each other or met in person back then. He sold me the SPK "Leichenschrei" CD,
and it changed my life. I wanted to make that kind of stuff. So I decided to record all sort of sounds in my Yamaha multi-track under the name of MAKANAKUNA, with all kind of instruments and sources, from circuit bended broken radios to nintendo sampled sounds, field recordings, percussions, synths, tv signals, etc.
This was a whole new universe to explore. After that revelation brought by the almighty SPK I was hunting and devouring industrial/noise/experimental artists, reading mags, fanzines, flyers, getting influenced by Autopsia, Masonna, The Haters, Merzbow, Asmus Tietchens, The New Blockaders, EHI, Einsturzende Neubauten,
The Gerogerigegege, Mesias Maiguashca and the great Emil Beaulieu. I traded tapes for CDs with Ron back in those days, which was so great. Ron put MAKANAKUNA on the infamous locked-grooves compilation LP "RRR-500". MAKANAKUNA last recording was "Fantasma 12" demo tribute to the Misfits in 1998.
Two years later I re-took the noise activities as Arcano18.
